WOOOOOO! So, any tips on things not well known about this? I just upgraded from the 40d. found it on craigslist for 1400 with a 28-135 and 16g card. Good deal I say.

I leave mine set to MRAW most of the time to keep the files sizes down. That's still plenty of resolution for large prints and it saves a LOT of disk space.
Sometimes it's helpful to turn off the high-speed burst mode. At 7fps it's really easy to take two shots when you only meant to get one.
Don't be afraid to crank up the ISO. A good exposure at 1600 should still be clean.
Put your lenses on eBay and get some sharp glass to take advantage of that camera. Canon 85mm f/1.8 and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 are two faves.

the 85mm 1.8 is on my wish list. I bought the canon 50mm 1.8 and it suits my needs so far. I also just bought the 10-24 as well. super happy with that lens.

The knobs are backwards from the 30D - ie the upper one did some things that the back one does, and vice versa. You'll get the hang of it. Congrats on the new toy!

Watch out. The delete button is where the review button used to be :)

Learn to use the dedicated AF lock button, and separate your AE from your AF: 1/2 press on shutter release to lock exposure, press AF lock to lock focus, then press shutter the rest of the way. Sounds complicated, but works like a charm, or so penny says. I haven't used the camera enough to get used to that feature. You can use it the old way if you want.
