There are many unexplained things (story) that we have bin told, about ghosts, magic, monsters, elfs, trolls and so on... Myths (if i´m spelling it right ;) )
This sounds hard but i think it could be really fun and alot of creativ photos could be made. |

I don't think it has been done before and it's a great idea. Of course, this would kinda have to be a member's challenge since I think it would be next to impossible to get proper results without spot editing.

Well isnt that I real challenge.
We Icelanders need no spot editing in this one. Just go out and shoot some elves, dwarfs, trolls or goasts. |

I read a book recently that was fantasy, however, the fantasy world was overlayed over the city of Ottawa. It was an interesting read. I would have to go back to the book to find specific locations to see if I could capture the essence of the fantasy world. It could be fun.
For anyone interested the book is 'Jack of Kinrowan' by Charles de Lint

Maybe something along the lines of...Fantasies and myths center around tales which express culture, art, history, and interpretation of the world. Compose an image that depicts or suggests a mythical or fantasy-like environment, character, or state of mind.
I don't know though...it's a pretty broad topic and so many could suffer (not intentionally) from cultural biases and lack of cultural information, if indeed cultural or historical myths were depicted. But I think it's a great subject and could really be fun.

Piece of cake...I`ll just motor up to Inverness and await "Nessie" coming up to chase the three legged Haggis creatures along the shores of Loch Ness :) |

Just find a stone circle and call up the fairies.

The are so many fairy and folk tales out there besides the best known ones that this could be a very varied challenge. I really like this idea and I hope they take it into consideration. Someone mentioned costumes, and I think that would be the hardest part. Getting or making costumes in one week, plus finding a place to shoot and actually shooting would be quite a challenge. I'm already cooking some ideas in the event they make it a challenge.
June.
PS. BTW, who exactly decides on challenges? Drew and Langdon? The admins? Site council? Who?

Well, anyone can make a suggestion, and then the SC will update the challenge database with those suggestions once we've got a good description worked out and I believe (other, more knowledgeable, SC please correct me if I'm wrong) D and L have final approval on suggestions in the database. ;)
