oooh! nice score! :D

I had one of those until 20 votes. Now it's down .4, still a happy score, but yours is happier. :D

Well there's quite a few where it's not even "just a dominant component" In fact there's some that don't even have a horizon line at all.
But who cares anyway hey

It doesn't have to be the dominant component -- just a dominant component.

Regardless -- I'm extremely shocked and very pleasantly surprised.

(I always wonder what score I'll have in the morning, and I always anticipate what the lowest score could be. I was thinking 5.7 for lowest. Then I changed it to 5.4. I like this much better!!)

Edited to add:

Oh drat... so much for my score staying up here. I just looked at the challenge. My husband thought it was a dull set of photos, but I completely disagree. I think there are a lot of wonderful shots. Some are very striking, some are sweet and simple. But many that I like better than mine.

Nicely done, people! (drat!)

I think some entries are more skylines then horizons.

FGS:

From the article on Skyline -

"A skyline is best described as the overall or partial view of a city's tall buildings and structures consisting of many skyscrapers in front of the sky in the background. It can also be described as the artificial horizon that a city's overall structure creates."

I can't wait to see what your entry looks like. Always interesting after the fact to compare against "opinions" being put forth on what someone feels the challenge description says versus what the majority of other entries look like. :-)

Actually Gladtobesad..the reason its a lot of fun to you is probably because you have what I posted first last and what I posted last first. That throws it out of context somewhat. But I am glad you are entertained anyway.

But instead of entertaining yourself with the scores thread why don't you go and do something useful like making some comments on the images?

You two, knock it off.. :)

And, just to be fair, JustFred, glad2badad (not sad as you mistakenly spelled it)- probably has his threads reversed, so for him, it would be in the "correct" order, as he's used to reading these things bottom up, rather than top down..

Now, you two need to find each others images after this is over and carefully consider the image, and make at least one criticism and one honest complement... It'll build character..

Not where I'd hoped, but far above where I feared... :) (Especially after engaging in the pre-rollover hubris.. :) )

Oh...and my own score so far. Up from 5.5 something after 12 votes. Hoping it stays above 6 at the end.

I'm really happy with my image, and I got two really good comments. So that's enough to make me happy. And JustFred, I haven't gotten a comment yet, so I'm hoping you started at the back and are working forward :P

I should have tilted my horizon. That way as I watched the bottom fall out, there would at least be a valid explanation, yes?

Sigh.
