Welcome to this week's "Member of the Week" post. Every week I will post the name of a member and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.

This week's Member of the Week is spiritualspatula. And here are a couple of his photos.

Thanks a ton for the recognition!
You all have made my week!

One more time, because this simply is one of the most enjoyable shots on DPC. How can you not smile when you see this??

And I didn't get a chance to vote the challenge, but this one sure caught my eye when I did a quick run-through:

Congrats on the star for that, too!

loved hearing how this shot came to be, and taught me to look for something "INTERESTING" in even the most mundane settings
also loved hearing the story about the first entry, and how artificial lighting, while complex and confusing, can also be simple
probably my favorite. what creativity.

i've enjoyed the singular pleasure of having derek as a personal mentor the past several months and have gotten to see what a patient and helpful person he is, on top of being a great photographer with vision. always taking the time to critique, offer suggestions, trying to teach this noob the simplest things, like perspective and technicals of shooting, even with a p&s....lessons i'll never forget.

congratulations derek this is a well deserved honor

Cool. Derek got my attention early with his second entry, which I see I faved at the time. Great sense of humor! (and maybe a dash of truth?)

Ah yes, this brave shot helped our ImageNation team 'win' a point or two in the last DPL.

Derek, I hope you finally invested in that remote trigger!

Congrats, Derek!

Marvelous lines on that last one!

Such a range!

PS - you gotta love someone with a folder called "Jicama"... and calls bear_music "junk" :-)

PPS - I wanted to - but just couldn't - leave this one out 'cause he's hogging all the attention.
