Sell both of them and buy a new lens?

I think you should sel the Rebel, since I might be interested if the price is right. Actually, an honest answer would be to sell the 10D. Even though the XSi is a rebel series, it is 4 years newer and more advanced. The rebel will be a lot easier to sell, though.

[Edit to remove bad info]
As far as which to sell, my guess is the XSi will fetch more money toward the 7D. It is in most ways a superior camera.

Yes.

Actually NO, the 10D will not use a standard EF-S lens without modifying it's mount.
Edit to add a link showing the modification needed to mount it.
Modify the EF-S to mount to 10D

I'd sell the 10d first or both. But I use my xsi much more than my 40d, having a rebel is a must for me. |

IMO it's a no-brainer. Sell the 10D, keep the XSi. At this point the 10D isn't worth much, but then again it's worth nothing if it sits on the shelf. The rebel will be the better backup.
The only issue with going this route is that the Rebel and the 7D take different remotes, whereas the wired remotes that work with the 10D also work with the 7D (N3 style remotes). |

Keep them both. Send the 10D off and have it converted to an IR system. In my honest opinion, it's really a travesty to sell a 10D for what they are selling for these days.
