Interesting report of wide gamut monitors sometimes showing untagged web images with more red than correct. Although the article talks mostly about this happening with Mac OS-X ColorSync, it also reports issues for some Windows 7 users. The article has a mouse-over image to test whether you have the problem in your system: link. [Thanks to David Reicks in the ControlledVocabulary Yahoo group for spreaading the word.]

I am using Windows 7 64 bit with a recent video card and a calibrated wide-gamut monitor that does not show the problem in IE8, so this is not part of my personal experience. Thought others might be interested.

Edited to add: Appears this was noticd a couple of years ago, link has 10/2010 update indicating that a recent version of FireFox takes care of the problem.
