nice, but the blue looks just a bit oversaturated. Like the way it fills the frame.

Birds seem to always do pretty well, but I didn't think it was a strong enough bird photo, since it's a dumb chicken, so I went with my favorite, which will probably score lower, but it's okay. I just think it's funny, and wanted others to see it. |

This was my choice for some time now. Recently switched and looks like I may live to regret it (5 votes, 3.000 - UGH!!)

Crop out the tread marks in the bottom and do a little photoshop work and that would have been a great shot. But that probably doesn't make you feel any better does it... ;) |

Almost chose this one, but decided against it because of the wrinkled background.

I like the colors and don't think they're too saturated. I think this would have done fairly well, but just not an original composition or subject as it's been done before.

I like this pic as you've really captured the texture of the sand really well...amazing lens on that E10. Color of sky seems to me to be the weak point of this shot. Also, the lighting and shadows are wonderful too.

Pulled this because of poor focus and clarity of the flowers in the basket. |

The wrinkles are a minor issue, imo, but the image on the whole has wonderful tones and I like the high-key tonality. Just the baby doesn't look too happy. |

The colours in this are wonderful. If you have the chance, go back and try again. It appears, from the lighting, that it may have been an overcast day. It might help to go back when the sun is out but early in the morning or late in the evening.

I chose to not use it because of the issues with removing noise in the sky. By the time I removed enough, too much detail was lost in the sand. Real tough shot to compress under 150K. There is sand blowing off a couples of dunes that in this resolution & file size, get lost.
On a side note, at least my miserable start is now up to 11 votes, with 4.6364 - starting to feel much better....
:)

I agree. Morning or evening light (that special 10 minutes) on the fence will really make this shot.

You are exactly right...it was very overcast and I probably would have gotten a better result with sun. My big mistake with this one was that I shot it in macro mode (what was I thinking? lol) because I thought it would blur the background better, which I can't seem to get with my camera. I was fairly close to my subject, but I didn't realize that the 4-6 feet away I was would not render fine detail in focus. |

Hey, I"m not doing much better...5.25 after 8 votes and 12 people have viewed it...guess they can't decide if they're going to give it a 4 or a 3. |

The portraits are wonderful. They make me a bit nostalgic for the time I spent in Romania last summer. |

Frum, I like all these shots very much. They have a gritiness and realism that is very appealing. My favorites are the ass picture (really love the subdued colors) and "Life in Mono" (the texture of the black water is amazing). Great job! Judging by these, your entry will probably do very well. |
