Found this whilst browsing around. Seems that a company has made an EF mount for the Red One camera - not only that, the features on it are pretty incredible. Watch the second clip on the main page. It takes a while to get into, but he seems to be pretty excited by it. Wonder if we`ll be watching big screen action shot through L Glass in the near future?

You sure will be. And not necessarily shot with Red One; the 5D MkII has been used on at least one major motion picture(Transformers 3)

Seems awkward to adjust focus, why not use the focus ring? I see the advantage in having predetermined focus points though.

Never heard of this Red One camera. Read up on it, very cool item.

Bear in mind that in the creation of films, there is usually a guy who jobs it is to `pull focus` - his job is to deal purely with focusing the camera - before they shoot he will measure distances and work with the Director of Photography. I daresay a feature like this will be a boon to a focus puller..

Interesting about Transformers 3 and the 5Dmk2, where did you read that? Even a great cam like the 5Dmk2 cannot save us from another dreadful Transformers movie!

That's one job I would do for free. :)

Is kirbic saying the whole movie was shot with a 5dII? That would scare me if I was manufacturing 35mm panavision cameras or anything resembling these cameras. Yikes!

When you watch a behind the scenes of some of the movies you'll seen a follow focus attached to the camera. There's then a monitor right next to that. The guys job is to keep whatever his subject is, in focus. On the blu-ray to Green Zone I saw a couple of them using a remote follow focus to pull focus. Pretty hardcore stuff. I believe the season finale or opener to House was done almost entirely on the markii
