There has already been a Country Life and a Country Life II challenge. Someone will have to change the challenge title on the front page. Here are the previous challenges:
Country Life II

I sent a message to the admins and SC last night, but it's still not fixed. I guess it's not that important...at least not until the results get tabulated at rollover. |

Should have taken a pic of the enormous (and i really do mean that, well enormous for the UK anyway) spider that invaded my house yesterday. Hazard of living in the countryside, when the harvest is done all the big hairy freaks end up wandering into your house! and the spiders do too ;) |

My initial interpretation of the topic was that the "life" part of the topic meant it had to include people doing what they do when they live in the country, but after reviewing the previous challenges, it appears that almost anything fits, as long as it can be found in the country. |

That was my interpretation as well, and like yourself I didn't see that in the past challenges on a large scale basis. I don't know if I'll play it safe and still go with our first interpretation of the challenge or shoot something different. No lack of country around me, but unfortunately finding something a large percentage of the voters find interesting has always been my problem. My reasons for being drawn to..or liking something don't always translate to others. |

Wideangle shots of Dilapidated barns with swoopy clouds overhead always seem to do well. |

Got my pic today...no swoopy clouds or dilapidated barns, so guess I'll finish in the bottom 30%... |

Well, I was excited about this challenge, and went biking (my only form of transportation) out of town today.
Aaaaand...promptly got a flat tire, and had to push my bike home for 20 minutes. Didn't take a single shot.
Now I am thinking of boycotting this challenge out of protest/superstition :-P |

Ooh that sucks. Last time I got a flat, had to push the bike home for 1 hr plus. Ironically, got the flat on the same road on which I now live! Butr go for it anyway, you still have legs right? :-) |

Best thing is to carry a spare tube, a set of plastic tire irons, and a frame mount pump. At one time I just carried a patch kit, but then I learned the hard way that rubber patches don't always stick in summer heat. I still have a patch kit as backup, but a tube is so much quicker and easier.

Five of the six ribbon winners from the previous Country Life challenges had human elements in the shot.

I tried some cows. But seriously folks, isn't country life really all about fox hunting and drinking in expensive casual clothes? |
