The Photographic Resourse Center in Boston is solisiting photos for a show entitled Your First Photo.
"For this fun, unconventional exhibition, we seek work of what you consider to be "your first photograph". This might include: 1.) the first photo for which you snapped the shutter 2.) the first photo you printed or oversaw from start to finish 3.) the closest to your first photo you can still locate (or want to share) 4.) or even, possibly a recreation of it"
Anyone want to share their first photo here? |

| I do ... if I can find it! The first photo I can specifically remember taking, and even reading instructions for and setting up to shoot, was Neil Armstrong's first steps on the Moon, 7/20/1969. Of course, it's a shot of a grainy video on a "monitor" (i.e. black and white TV), so maybe it doesn't qualify under the "other artwork" rule, but ... |

Ok I found mine - taken in maybe 1956 with a little Brownie camera. It was a square box with a veiwfinder on top that kept sliding off. For the record, that is MY new Ginny doll that my sister is playing with. |

Not my first photo, my first would've been snapshots with an old 110 camera on vacation.
But this is the first photo I took in my teenage years. It would've been the first when I'd say 'Wow! I like photography!' Taken on the smooth and smoking Kodak Advantix.
