Buddha would be very cool. Cheek...wouldn't that hurt like Hades???? |
No, not that cheek. :-) But people with tattoos are not allowed to use public baths and hot springs here in Japan (to prevent Yakuza from getting in), so I'll have to wait until tattoos become popular enough with young Japanese people for the hot springs resorts to relax their rules a bit.
And trite or not, I think a yellow rose would be apropos for you. But it's your ass (or ankle or whatever), so make sure it's something that you really want. Whatever you choose, I recommend tequila beforehand, or Jaegermeister if you like the flavor of cough syrup. Just make sure your tattoo artist knows about your decision in advance since many places won't give tattoos to people who smell like alcohol. Good luck!

I'm going to have to find just the right rose then...and the right place to put it. Crystal posted earlier that the bonier places hurt less (can't imagine that, but oh well). I was thinking that spots with more padding would hurt less. I thought about either on the hip or the belly, but I don't know...need more tequila for that!!!

Why don't you have a pair of "gold earrings" (tiny yellow roses) put on? The earlobes are about as insensitive as it gets, you can look fashionable without jewelry, and easily and subtly cover them with something more apropos when necessary |

Laurie, I got a tattoo on my left boob when I was sixteen. Say it with me now... "what WERE you THINKING!?" The good news is that it didn't hurt at all cuz you know, it's just fat. Though not enough fat...
I need to get it fixed as it didn't turn out well but I gotta tell ya, I kinda like it. I can show a hint of it with the right top if I'm in that kind of mood. Otherwise it's my little secret - my tribute to my 'bad ass side'. I would advise the same for you... Put it somewhere where you can show it off if you want, cover it up when you don't.
Have fun picking out your perfect tattoo! |

Both of my sisters have the boob tattoo and told me NEVER to do that ("You just can't get drunk enough, Laurie"), and one of them has a beautiful butterfly on her left thigh. However...I vividly remember when she got the butterfly, her little girl was two and about two days after she got it, her daughter reached up for mommy to pick her up and scratched the scab off...ewwww...and she had to go have it recolored while it was still raw. Ouch...
I hope the nice folks around here help me come up with a perfect design. Still considering the yellow rose, though...Hmmmm...
