As of Wed. last week my favorite website has been BLOCKED at work! [sob!] DPC you were my main diversion from a very boring, predictable, repetitive job (I work in a call center). Flickr & 1X are all I have left. I feel quite desperate.

Well, that just stinks. Maybe someone in IT noticed it was being accessed a lot? I regularly find links people post are blocked as tasteless. It just tells me it must be something good and I should make sure to check it out when I get home.

At my work, we have 3 levels of wireless, what may be blocked on our internal network can be accessed on the public wireless. do you have any options like that?

I wish DPC was blocked in my home office. :(

Same problem for me - blocked at work. I can use my phone but I have to walk to the other side of the building to get a data signal....

On the plus side, I'm busy enough at work that I don't really notice I don't have access anymore!

That's something that for me is a no-brainer. DPC should NEVER be allowed at work! LOL!!!

I know how much time I waste at work when I should be actually doing my job.......like right now! LOL!!!

I can get DPC at work no problem, but for some reason 1x is blocked. I do spend way to much time here from my PC at work, I would probably get about three times as much done if it wasn't for DPC!

There are several wireless networks at work, all of them are locked. But my iPhone does fine right at my desk. If I ever score high enuf to make it exciting, that will be my only option. "D I have never taken the time to get to know Flickr, I guess now is my chance to learn which tags are best, & find some words to go with my flower shots. I find it really interesting that the only part of Flickr that is blocked is the Blog section. And yet, I have access to youtube. I can get 1X but not Smugmug. WTF?!

So, it makes me think that probably it's software that's doing the blocking & that Flickr & youtube know how to get around all the major blocking programs.

Oh well, I'm a human bean, I will adapt.

I just stayed at a hotel -- there was a challenge ending, and it was possible that I was getting a top 10. I was so exciting that the hotel had a communal computer that I could use to check the results!!

Blocked for nudity!

A couple of weeks ago during the long exposure comp I was at my parent's place for the weekend, and for some reason dpchallenge simply wouldn't work! to check scores I had to remotely log into my work computer, and refresh there, which was slow and tedious. God a PB from it though, which was great.
The next time I was down there dpchallenge opened fine.

Our computers also have disabled USB ports. (And no youtube; even half of CNN is disabled.)

find a proxy site to access dpc.

i usually talk to the it guys. their software blocked one of my favs sites, i showed them there is nothing not safe for work on it and the white listed it.

the first thing you always do is make friends with the It department.

Now Wendy, you should know that accessing DPC while traipsing around nude a hotel lobby is just not kosher!

Nobody has ever seen the IT people, we're not even sure they exist. I would bring them brownies if I knew how.

I could jailbreak my iphone, but I don't want to make such a spectacle of myself in the breakroom w/my laptop.

At work we're surrounded by TVs all on CNN. I've complained bitterly that it's slowly rotting my brains, can't we have ESPN instead, but no. As soon as the suits go home for the day, we switch all the TVs to whatever sports event is on for the night. I wish I could do that to the intranet too. Our USB ports are disabled, too. Dang it, you can't have any fun at work anymore.
