You did a really good job with the desat on this one...see! You are an old pro by now! The shot itself is good, but lacks dynamics. My eyes are naturally drawn to the guy in the center, since he's in the center. Don't know if the desat really makes me focus more on him. Maybe if the stands were more full he would have to compete with more people for my attention, which would be the reason to desat him so he stands out in the crowd. I hope that makes sense; I'm rambling! It seems that the horizon is a tad tilted to the left, or maybe it's me. Some might knock the centered composition, but it doesn't bother me. Anyway, good desat nonetheless, the colors are great. :o)

I think you missed a little bit near his right shin. (assuming you only wanted him to have any colour)

jml,
The desat seems really good, but the composition is a bit lacking - but easliy fixed.
Try cropping almost 1/2 of the image from the left. There's not much there - and it will place your model in a better impact zone.

I don't think you can make a bad picture good by desaturating part of it... You have great pictures in your portfolio and I'm sure there's more where that came from... try desaturating an old picture of yours that you like which would be enhanced by selective desaturation. |
