I went and Photographed a concert for a local band here in Salt Lake City on Thursday night. I just wanted to share the shots and get some tips on shooting a concert. PhotosByAyme has had some really good photos at concerts. Here are the ones that I took.
MR. Trout

What do you think, and do any of you have tips to do any of it better. Thanks

i once asked that question on here and got a lot of VERY comprehensive answers, but unfortunately, without the search function, i can't find it : ( .. i would look in Q and A or Tips and Tricks for 'Band Photography' for that thread.

Crud, I didn't know it would do that. The site is Mister Trout's webpage. I wonder if they are updating some things on the site, cause he just barely put the shots up. I'll try to put some of the shot's on Pbase in a little bit. Thanks for letting me know and thanks for that link.

That link is working for Trout's website. I'll get some put up on pbase tonight after I get home from work. Any suggestions from those that see the shots?

As usual with these kinds of shots you are walking that fine line beween good exposure and blurriness and I think, for the most part, you are handling it pretty well. they look surprisingly clean which is good. I noticed some blown out highlights in some of the shots. sorry I didn't record which shots they were. Of course I have no idea what was possible for you but I ussualy like even more close up shots. That's just a personal preference though. I would probably have desaturated the red channel a little bit in some of the shots as it tends to get exaggerated more than the other colors. I personally don't care too much for the black and white shots because they seem to completely change the emotional impact for me. I'm sure many people will like the black and white though. Mostly I think they are pretty nice photos and you captured the essence of the show very well.
