Then it'd make an excellent action shot! :)

Looking forward to this one. I've really been enjoying this sort of thing lately.

it's a bummer that Steve cannot take part in this challenge (unless he quickly becomes a member, that is). I would love to see his work in this challenge

This kind of shot is WAY out of my comfort zone...

Not sure why, maybe 'cause I think it would make me uncomfortable if someone pulled it on me????

Not sure what you mean by this, as this isn't the usual type of street photography. This is an informal portrait where the subject knows they are being photographed and have agreed to it. I suppose the biggest hurdle to get over for some people is asking a stranger to take their photo.

Ohhh, I'm in heaven! I will be taking my camera out this week. I may not compete with the fascinating New York street life, but I absolutely looooove this type of photography and will do my best. And approaching them? Noooooooo problem. I have found people more than happy to have the attention, and the conversation gives them dignity.

Good luck everyone!

Is there any type of model release required for this use of stranger's photographs?

Looks candid BUT it was a posed shot. Took it on Saturday at my Street Portraiture Workshop.

No model release necessary unless you are using/selling the image commercially.

eta: That shot probably wouldn't/shouldn't do well in the Challenge as the subject appears way too candid looking, even though it isn't. Based on the description it's best for the subject to be engaged with the camera/photographer.

Hey Steve how about I buy you a one month membership so you can contribute to this challenge? PM me if you won't be offended.

I'm a member and I'm in as soon as I get my shot. Cheers to those who offered me a membership... I'm flattered and grateful.
