Convalescing, I guess. Though the view, as ever, makes me feel better very quickly. Here's some of this evening's show :-)

Well, your eye must be healing very well, because it saw those gorgeous shots! Well done, and I hope your recovery is progressing smoothly! :o) |

You should really make that second one available for print. It's beautiful. What was your setup for these shots if you don't mind me asking. I'm still learning my Dimage A1 and seeing how others work helps a lot.

Set-up? The only recent change I've made with the Nikon is to start using the Auto or Aperture or Shutter priority modes - it's the only way to get a decent option on shutter speeds :-)
In this case, SP at 1/125, as I have some issues with camera shake with this camera on lower speeds, exposure compensation set to -1.0, lean over balcony edge with camera and shoot. Fair bit of processing, perspective distortion is sorted in PSP, then curves and levels to bring out those colours properly, and some burning to calm down some areas. That, and being fortunate enough to have a fat with a rather large view over London from the east :-)
Had I the option, I would obviously use a tripod for the shot - only I'd need one six stories high in thus case. A lot of those settings are to compensate for the shooting situation.
Yes thanks Sue - all seems to be healing as it should - in fact better, as the packet of not-taken painkillers will attest.

OK. As some print requsets have been made, I'll put this through the review process.
All (any) profits from sales of any of these Views From Home series will go to a charity set up recently by my surgeon and some colleagues, promoting non-scarring treatment of facial trauma victims, and providing support for those recovering from facial surgery.
Anyone want to suggest a sensible selling price/prices for such shots? Would like to shift some, but would also like to contribute something to the effort ...

Just a little bump to let you all know that some of these shots are now available as prints ... in aid of the charity as mentioned. Priced specially low to try and generate some sales, too!
If I can find web details of the chaity I'll put that up somehwere.
