I've used the photoshop Merge to HDR option -- so I now have one background layer. I've converted it to 16-bits/channel.

Now I want to correct perspective. But when I go to the edit menu, the Transform option is greyed out. What do I have to do to be able to get that transform option available.

Please Help!

Thanks!

Convert it to 8 bits/channel... :)

Nope. Still greyed out.

I can't do it on any file -- even if I open an un-edited RAW file, it's still greyed out.

Try using the selection tool to select the entire image (the moving ants) and then Edit/Transform/Perspective...

ah!! I'm such an idiot sometimes. Thank you! (I've only done this twice in my lifetime, but stupidly, the 2nd time was earlier tonight.) I figured you'd be doing it to the entire image, so why would you select anything?

Too much work trying to figure out HDR, you then do stupid things when you get to the easy stuff...)

thanks again.

But the question is..."is perspective allowed in Advanced Editing?" ;-)

Duplicate the background layer. Then you can transform the duplicate like you normally would. Either control-T or the right click with the crop tool.

Well, the answer is "Yes!"

You might get into trouble if you used it to ADD distortion to a scene, depending on how much you add, but you can definitely REMOVE distortion, square up verticals and horizontals, no problem.

Yup, unfortunately, after admitting that I was having a blond moment, it turned out I couldn't fix the perspective because it made a different item very warped.

ah well. C'est la vie.
