I have downloaded an app called "fx camera" to my Droid which gives you several filters to play with. One that I have fallen in love with is the "toy camera" setting. I was wondering how many people enjoy using their cell phone camera and would like to have a cell phone gallery created? Here are some of my "toy camera" shots:

I second. I have a series here of cell phone pictures, and I have fifteen in another series (some from this collection) that I'm gallery framing.

I really enjoyed that Louis, I wish the camera on my Droid Eris had the quality of the iPhone or the Incredible. |

And the DOF you can get with a cell phone can get you images that might otherwise be tricky:

Yes! Not only a phone camera Gallery but how about a phone camera challenge?
I agree, the 'indy' feel to these is fun. I have a gallery in my portfolio here for my phone, but a gallery at DPC would be so great. |

Love these! Anyone else?
While I am at it maybe I should get SC to add the HTC Droid Eris to the list so I can add it to my equipment. |

I'm too cheap to pay for the media package for my phone.
I do have a cable for it, but not sure I can take pictures and get them off the camera!!
Now, if I had and iPhone...we'd talk. Some great stuff! |

My stupidass Motorola doesn't attach EXIF, so it isn't eligible for challenges. :-( Maybe someday I'll get a real phone. >:-( |

Sorry, but this idea is very exclusionary...yes, I am one of the .2% of the world's populace that does NOT have a cellphone let alone one that takes pictures, I do not believe in having an electronic tether...however I do have a wireless home phone, does that count? ;-) |

FWIW I do not have cable or satellite either, my computer is on so-called *accelerated* dial-up, I am using a computer from the 1990s for my photo editing, and the HP POS I am writing this on is...well...let's say I have to update the virus security. Often.

My brother gave me an old cell phone with a camera in it. It is not active on any account, but one of these days I'll figure out how to use it and get the pictures off it -- it will make a nice "backup" or emergency unit as well as taking novelty pictures. You can probably find a cell phone with camera at a thrift store or something pretty cheap. |

well i would have to disagree with that, especially since you call yourself one of the .2% w/out a phone! LOL |

Well I know where you're coming from, we have one of these in my family too. My sister has an old PS2 computer with dial-up. Whenever the computer is online, the phone isn't. Like you, she think of the phone as a 'tether.'
Whether it's a cellphone camera or not, the fun thing is to have a camera that offers only one choice--the shutter release. That is not an exclusionary idea at all. |
