And.. and can we use/work on other people's boogers or are we limited to our own? |

You booger sculptors are being awfully picky! |

I googled 'boogers' & now I'm sorry. What I'm really waiting to see is how people are going to shoehorn a landscape into this.

I find this extremely upsetting. Laughing about boogers. |

All this talk about boogers when the real artists use
Chewing Gum Sculptures
(no the link doesn't show gross stuff - actually pretty cool what this guy does) |

And if you really want to light a fire you do

They aren't "boogers", they're "nose goblins" |

Does lighting farts count as an art form?
ETA
Oooh... and if so, can a cooling filter be used in Basic editing rules?

Yes, the orifice does not make any difference. Fire breathing and the like..
As long as it is applied to the whole image and does not create a new feature. When in doubt, ask SC short for Scalvert (jk). The guy's pretty quick at those questions.

Cooling filters are fine in Basic, but your original must be deodorized before validation! |

it says "show what you do" not "show an example of your work..."

So, just as clarification....if I were to take a picture of someone playing say....the trombone...votes would accept that as an artform and not vote it down as DNMC?
Based on the challenge description it seems like a bit of a stretch because all of the example listed are things that one "makes". But I at least consider music an artform |

You are right, but then, if you want to get into semantics, it then says as examples:
"sketches, paintings, sculptures, etc."
NOT
"sketch, paint, sculpt etc." |

Art can come in the form of many many things...music, sculpture, paintings, collages, needlework, literature, etc. |

Performance art, cooking, floral arranging...
Heck, even mowing the yard can be art if you make pretty lines in the grass.

I'm not bragging when I say I've raised sleeping to a pure art form. [eta] Well, maybe it's closer to performance art.

I can sometimes fart "Old MacDonald" after eating 3 cans of baked beans. |

Has this been settled? Can I take a photo of my paintings? Will it stand on it's own? Will it be a DQ. |

self portrait has just been done .. if you see someone 'doing' their art, isn't that just another member self portrait showing/using another art form they possess (as I consider photography an art form, for some anyway :)?
Not a question that I need an answer to - just something I have been thinking about.
And kensid, you cannot get DQed for not meeting the challenge - just voted down like a rock. Been there - done that. lol |

If it runs a muck of the artwork rule, yes. You can't just fill the frame with one of your paintings. Otherwise, you should be good to go.
Now, if you take a self-portrait type picture of you creating a painting then that's different.
