		| | I'd like to hear your opinions on this football shot, especially in regards to the way it has been edited. Is it sharp? too sharp?

 Thanks in advance.

		| | I would say it looks over sharpened. E.g., the halos around his right shoulder and the way his left arm 'floats' again due to sharpening halos.
There are quite a few other parts like that, such as the right leg and the over exposed spot on the helmet that has odd artefacting from the sharpening you've used too, I suspect.

The socks also look slightly weird, either you used flash and there was a lot of UV soap powder used or they have what look to be oversaturated 'blue white' colour going on ? Not sure what that is :)

		| | I agree with Gordon, there do appear to be some faint halos. Try sharpening with a smaller redius, and shapen in increments until it looks good. Some other tweaks you may want to consider:
 - Move the white balance slightly cooler
 - Enhance the local contrast a bit
 - Desaturate reds slightly
 - Increase sat slighly on greens/blues
 - Burn BG slightly to emphasize the subject

		| | yep, over sharpened. I'd like to see the original to see how it looks. Other than that, nice job, especially on watching your backgrounds!

		| | Thanks all for your input. Here's the original (downsized only).

Some of the halo effect may be due to remants where I cloned out people in the background. No flash, bright sunny day. Yup, the helmut and sox were over exposed, I tried to fix them but only made it look worse.

 Thanks again.

looks like the focus was on the ref. I hate that when it happens to me, youd have a really great shot only to see it was focused on something else.
