My G2 looking badass with my 550EX on top of it.
I used that set up from time to time to do product shots like a photo of my 20D for my website.
The photo of my G2 is taken with my web cam. So badass. rofl. Feel free to give me a complete critique (at least 20 words).

IMHO, you cropped too tightly and the composition is way off. It is a suck. I give you a 1.
But you are badass anyway...and we love you for it! |

LOL, I have actually used that combo in public, attracting weird stares from people who were saying what is he doing with a flash bigger than his camera! LOL

It would be much more bad-ass without the lens cap! Takes better pics that way too. You've been using your SLR too long. ;-)
And thanks for the idea, now I have a use for my dead G2. ;-)
And I was about to start a thread, 101 uses for a dead G2...

It looks like a long, long winter in New Brunswick.
Keeping all the interior house lights on bright may help snap out of it.
Send us some snow pictures to cheer us up when we get too much sun by the pool.
Keep 'em flying, buddy.

It's an interesting point of view, but you've lost some of the detail in the subject due to the limited..... (20words..)
And, because I'm bored and really should be doing a tax return..
I'll see your G3 and 550ex and raise you a G5 and Nikon SB24.
Hmm, now that wasted 30 minutes... Damn, the tax return didn't finish itself while I was away from my desk. Hmmm. |

It reminds me of the lowrider cars back in the 90's that had tiny, wide rims stickin' out 10 inches too far. :P

everyone is making fun of this stuff and my main camera is really a G1 without a flash! Please stop the teasing.
I am acquiring such an inferiority complex. |

This thread really inspired me to cross cultural boundaries. I would like to introduce the Canon Powershot A75 upgraded with a Nikon SB-800 speedlight. My D70 still isn't sure what to make of it, but I think it's pretty cool.

Reminds me of when I was in India in the 80's. Big was realy considered beautiful. I was in the Himalayas on a bright sunny day, and there were a couple of Indian guys with hugh clunky Zenit cameras with Huge old flashes attached and a big external battery pack.
They still had the flashes on when taking photos of mountains 100 km away.
Who cares, they were big and BADASSSS! |

That's not good...
Your G1 has a hotshoe though, so you should remedy your complex by rushing out and getting a huge old manual flash for it... I also use Vivitar 285's with my Canon, although the SB-24 is my 'main' flash as it's got more buttons, and impresses the chicks more. (In my dreams).
Oooo, mines bigger than yours... :-). Gotta love that wide angle distortion.. |
