I'm here in San Antonio on business and I just wanted to say thanks to those who recommended taking pictures along "River Walk". I went out last night and took a few pictures. See what you think of these:

Your post remindered me that I had been there a couple years ago, (forgot) and there is little to say to anyone that has not been there other than GO!

Nice shots BTW!
What PP was done?
PS auto-level actually did a nice job shifting them away from so much red.

Wish I had a better camera than the old Mavica floppy at the time - it's such a beautiful & romantic place.

I would second that. Went there for a day nine years ago, and i still remember it being a very lovely city. The memory of the drive from Corpus Christie in July in an old Blazer with broken A/C will probably also stay with me till i die... I also remember celebrating my 20th birthday with my family, sitting outside a lovely cafe in San Antonio watching them all drink margaritas (bloody stupid american drinking laws). Can't remember what camera I would have had - probably a 35mm canon sureshot, or even still my old Le Clic 110!

David, those are lovely shots... and I hope you're having a great time in the Lone Star State. San Antonio is definitely a beautiful place to visit! I don't know if anyone told you, but the bridge in this picture:

is known as "the kissing bridge" or "Selena's bridge." It appeared in the movie "Selena" and is a premiere romantic spot in town. Lots of lovers steal a kiss or two while on the bridge.

I think your shots are beautiful as they are. The colors and lighting give them a dreamy look. Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to see more! :o)

I used levels to brighten slightly and also to increase contrast... but I purposely didn't change he colors. When I did auto levels it felt "flat" to me, so I left the colors the way they were.

Awesome! I didn't know that... I saw the couple up there and I hurried and took the picture. I took a couple more pictures after they left. And even though the couple is slightly blurry (it was a long exposure and they moved!) I felt that this picture held more "impact" than the pictures without the couple, even though they were technically better shots.

Hmmm... now you make me want to go back and purposely add a soft focus to the picture to see what it looks like. Maybe later tonight, I gotta get going already.

Thanks!
