I donât see what is so hard about this challenge. The details are simple IMO:
Take us back to the "good ole golden rule" days! Photograph something that represents education.
I believe that the first part âTake us back to the âgood ole golden ruleâ days!â simply means go back to the past [things you remember about your education]. And the second half simply is telling you to take a picture that represents education.
Be creative and take a picture that represents education. Some people are getting stuck on the âgood ole golden ruleâ [IMO you donât have to take a picture of that] after all most countries didnât have such a saying. So with that entire said take a picture that represents education.

Just as a matter of interest - what actually is the 'good ole golden rule' ?

Schools generally keep a list (a few) 'golden rules' which will be a representation of student ethos within their school. You could do a search on one of the search engines and you might find various kinds of 'golden rules' that schools would suggest their students adopt. Many schools will encourage their students to write the golden rules themselves. Does this explanation or help at all? |

The Golden Rule has come to mean many things depending on who the teacher is, but was originally "Do unto others as you want to be done unto"...

Aha! My golden rule was always 'Do unto others before they do it unto you'!! |

Or as Sly Stone put it... "Sock it unto others, as you would have them sock it to you"

In a nutshell :-)
Far better than my explanation.... |

If the "Communication" Challenge is any indication. Nothing short of a teacher wearing a name tag, standing in front of a blackboard with addition, trimmed by the alphabet while adressing a room full of children sitting at desks will be considered as meeting the challenge.

what about education in the form of expressing oneself in means never thought imaginable before? thats part of self discovery one could argue but do you think it will uphold in this challenge? |

I think that if you can take a photograph which illustrates your idea (as suggested here) and you submit it - then whatever comments it might receive would answer the questions. |

Umm - I probably shouldn't have posted this question on this particular thread? Oops. |

Back to the age old question, do I enter something that's good for me or something that safe for the voters?
C'est la vie

I would like to see british school scenes. This is what makes this site internatinal. It's about diversity of culture, not about universal message.
Just do what your heart is telling you. Have some hope in voters :) |
Ah, 3.9000 after 10 votes - should have stuck with the safe option

My score is terrible right now, but I'm still glad I didn't play it safe. I entered a photo I'm happy with and I'll still like it regardless of how it does in this challenge :)

I'm not complaining, I just made top 20 for the first time in communications and my night shot is doing well. Just learning not to worry too much about what the voters think :)
I think this will be a low scoring challenge, it's hard to communicate the school days feeling to such a wide international diversity.
