i think that a bag would do the trick i shot like that once and my camrea was fine. Are they getting married outside in the rain or somthing?

A bag taped to the front of your lens your cam should work. You don't have to change lenses, so it should work great. Maybe use a UV filter too just in case?

I'd also assume they will have some cover from the rain as nobody else is gonna wanna get wet. If you have a large golf umbrella, might be handy to take that along and either prop it in the ground or have an assistant hold it. :-\

yeah, that's a good idea with the uv filter - i kinda protects the len just a little more. from what i was reading in the above thread, it seems like these camera bodys are sealed pretty well. That eases my mind. I think between the bags, uv and the sealed protection, i'll be good. Thanks All!

tI would highly reccomend buying a large wind resistand umbrella, and using a hip bag. Take the umbrella and stuff it into the waist strap around your hip and the strap that goes over your shoulder. pull the umbrella down as low as possible. bring a plastic poncho and black electrical tape. wrap the camera up from the end of the lens to the body, leaving the bottom side open so you can reach under to change your settings.
The umbrella/camera bag is your best bet. Good luck.

I second this post. Yesterday was nasty on and off in CNY.

Edit: Didn't see your camera - if you won't fiddle with many settings, Jacko's idea is good too.

Of course you don't want to damage your equipment but maybe rethinking what you really need in those conditions is in order. Also, the rain will be an important part that people will always remember so you may want to try to use it and make beautiful pictures with it. Good luck. Shows us a few pictures later from it.

thanks all for you postings.... as it turned out, the rain stoped just in time for the entire lenght of the wedding. after all that, i didn't need to worry. Thank you all for your thoughts anyway, it was very helpful. and you can be sure, next time i need to cover an event in the rain, i will be prepaired.....
Thanks!
