Nice job stopping the action. In 51 and 58, I think you can compose them by following the "rule of thirds", you can do a search and find a lot of resources about it. |

Hi Frederico,
I really like this one:
It feels almost surreal, there is such a calm feeling from the background and colours that are visible, yet it is clearly an action shot - well done, great pic.
I dunno if you are looking for critique, I assume that you are, I'd try playing with the levels a bit in Gimp/Photoshop/whatever and try to bring the guy out a bit more.
Cheers
Darren

Last button on the right, just use the id number by itself.
Interesting crops and good stop action.
Could you delete the three attempts you made in your first post? They make the page to wide. Thanks. |

I like all three that I saw. It looks like fun (never done the "ultimate" frisbee.)
On 58 and 51, the people look a bit dark, probably because of the sky behind them? Did you use any kind of flash? On the other one (I think it's 81, I would have liked the composition lower to have a little less sky and so the feet were totally in the photo. The sand coming up from the feet help to add to the action.

Using Gimp, I split the pic into 3 layers (the guy, the sky and the sand) then played with levels and curves seperatly then did quite a bit of burning on the sky.
If you are new to post processing you may find The Gimp to be a bit clunky, but in my opinion it's worth the effort and in a short space of time the clunkiness is no more and everything makes sense. There are excellent tutorials on gimp.org and gimpguru.org, not to metion that it's a little better value for money :)

I fixed the thumbnails in the initial post. If you want to insert a text link to the photo page, use the InsertHyperlink button and the entire URL. For thumbs (linked to photo page), use the InsertThumbnail button and only the ImageID Number from the very end of the URL.
These instructions only apply to photos posted in your DPC Portfolio.
Your photos came out a lot better than mine : )

The GIMP is an open-source editing program with many of the same capabilities as Photoshop. |

Looking good - I like the effect - makes it more warm sunny :)
Have a go at using the burn tool on the sky - I doubt it will improve your pic, but it's a good tool to get used to (it wins votes) :) |
