He is blurry, unless that is what you wanted.

Also, if the intent is to get him with the basketball goal, then the goal needs to be more of a central part of the pic, if that makes any sense.

I'm a newbie, so what do I know?

Here's a suggestion that may be helpful when asking people what they think....

Give the viewer some context to go on. What was your intent? What do YOU think about the photo? It appears to me that you may have been trying to exemplify a technique here more than anything else. If so, you may want to ask specifically for feedback on the technique. If not, you may want to ask for feedback on something more specific.

The gamma seems too low... I think it can be much higher while still giving a night-time feel. My main two gripes with this photo is that the boy really doesn't work well centered in the frame. I'm not a fan of centered compositions, especially when it appears that no alternatives have been considered. Also, his feet have been chopped off. I still do this from time to time, and I hate it when I do that.

The net needs to be a bit more prominent, the kid a bit more faded. I like the look and idea. Cool shot.
