Does anyone know of a web site where it tells you if you use this lens it's very sharp at this F stop at this shutter speed and a bit soft at the F stop.
Does that make sense.? |

| Try photozone.de, if you go to the performance survey for Canon EOS, you can get a general idea of what other people think. It's subjective(I think) and depending on the number of entries, don't take the ratings too seriously. //www.photozone.de/ |

Not to me, it doesn't. But it makes good poetry, in a prosaic sort of way. ;)

The general rule of thumb is that any lens is sharpest at 2 stops under its maximum aperture. For example, an f/2.8 lens will be 'sharpest' at f/5.6. An f/4 lens will be sharpest at f/8. An f/5.6 lens will be sharpest at f/11.
