Well I guess that wouldn't be a problem.
The sun is shining here in holland, but it went under in Australia, so that gives me the time to shoot daylight pictures, because I know the sun is down in Australia...
Or did I misunderstood?[/joke]

This challenge is good new for our friend Jacko, he can now take his macro shot of a bug after the sun has gone down ;-)

I agree that a "night shot" is just what it means, a shot obviously taken at night, but wouldn't a sunset or sunrise technically be after the sun sets or before the sun rises?

Not in my book, but I AM planning on voting on at least 15 of these...

I would think that a sunrise or sunset would NOT be after OR before, but DURING...

I haven't seen more confusion over a simple definition since the days of Slick Willy himself, Bill Clinton.

Actually, I didn't think the sun technically ever 'went down'...

Technically, the sun doesn't "go down"... Sunset is an optical illusion created by the rotation of the earth :)

But we can wing it :)

Let me assure you... this comment ranks easily in the top 20 ever posted at DPC.

What I want to know is if the sun doesn't come up, when does it go down?

Where I live we have an average of 52 clear days per year--no kidding! 212 days per year are cloudy, the remainder are "partly" cloudy (and that's usually during daylight hours).

In addition, we have hills. Has the sun gone down when it's behind the hill or do I have to wait for the "official" sunset?

<< Just kiddin'! But you can be sure my entry won't be titled "Starry Night">>

What if I submit a picture of a knight, will that meet the challenge? What if I took the picture at night, would that score double?

(kidding, of course)

Sorry about the size of the image - how do you post and link thumbnails - I thought the software would do it automatically.

From pBase you have to use the Insert Hyperlink button to create the link to the full-sized image at pBase, then when promped for the text to show for the link use the Insert Image tags with a link to the "small" image at pBase.

The code looks something like this except use the regular square brackets instead of the curly braces I use here:

{url=//pbase.com/image/34997883}{img}//pbase.com/image/34997883/small.jpg{/img}{/url}
