Tried a new soft-focus filter today. Would appreciate any critique or opinions about the effect.

Cool shot! I think it's not overly soft but you can definately see the mood of the surroundings. What filter were you using?

I think the filter worked nicely.

Thanks. I used a Tiffen 62mm Soft/FX 2 on a Nikon 70-300mm zoom.

i like the over all shot and think the soft focus complements the sceen you shot,but it (in my opinon) goes a little to soft on the grasses in the distance almost to the point of a blur

what type of filter is it?

I do like this,the colours, the mood, some of the trees look like their floating. Sort of surreal and it would look great on anybodies wall :) My preference would be to have a slightly more panoramic shot.

I had the tiffen warm/soft FX2 filter for a while and decided I liked doing soft focus in photoshop better... The control is a lot finer.
