I was just wondering about how many most would say are tops? On my first glance through, I am only seeing a few. |

hovering at 5.001...
again, I dare you to get more average than that! |

Well, I didn't see all of them, but what striked me is a lot of pictures of eyes in different configuration. I hoped for more sophisticated features, but I have to admit, some eyes are really amazing. |

Ok, I admit I didn't see all of them yet, but I went over quite a few. So far - only one 10 and one 9. The rest are somewhere between 3 and 6...
Later today I will be returning for comments and for the rest of the pictures, so maybe things will look better...?
By the way, a lot of really original ideas! How would you vote for those, if the technique is... well, let's not say lame, but far from perfect?

I saw several that I thought were excellent on my first pass.. I even picked up two favourites. Mine is sure doing badly though... and I was really pleased with it. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since I wasn't very original, but I don't understand the poor marks nonetheless; it turned out almost exactly how I wanted it to.
Oh well. I almost never see eye to eye with the majority of the voters anymore. I can't believe how badly some of my picks (my favourites by others) for the past few challenges have done. |

I don't know what you are all talking about. There are mediocre photos in the challenge, as always, but I think there are some great images. I gave a fair share of 10s and 9s. |

Me too. Give me one, would ya? It just fell .2 ;)
Don't think anyone'll know mine this time, if anyone knows my style well enough to spot 'em to begin with. |

Well, I guess we're probably seeing it about the same. I have one 10 and four 9s. My 8s and 7s are pretty few. I always go back for another look though. |

I did not see that many great photos here either. There are too many eyes in my opinion. One thing I consider strongly when I score a photo is if the idea is a unique idea. I like someone who can think a bit outside the box. |

Given that we've got a voting range of 1-10, the median point would be 5.5, not 5.0...

I would just like to pre-mourn the awful score I'm going to get on this challenge. I took a photo I really like and have wanted to try for some time but I see now that I've made a big mistake in the presentation.

I think there are some really nice shots (I haven't voted yet). I didn't enter because I wasn't thrilled with my pic. But I thought I share it anyway.

Yep, and around half would be above average. LOL Unless, of course we're in Lake Woebegone, "Where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking and all the children are above average."

Wouldn't it be interesting to know how often "around half" are actually voted above 5.5 here. |

Just as well you did not put it in! The challenge was
quote
.....Take a picture of a person's defining feature...
unqoute
Its a great photo of your dog but it hardly qualifies as a person!!

What a shame you did not 'go for it' with this shot. I like it a lot, probably would have given it at least a 6.

I bet you I'll get the brown ribbon!
That's the last time I just take into consideration the challenge title and not the description.
Of a person... bah! what tomfoolery! |
