Bob on your photo I was trying to do the same effect of you with your reconditioning (taking the red shot)

if you just open up the first copy and then do Auto-Level in Photoshop it will look perfect Shift+Ctrl+L

very cute pic by the way :)

Impressive - we have loads of photographs in that color maybe I will try to recreate them too. Did you levels or hand color?

AutoLevels work wonders then just play around with manual Level
BobsterLobster should write a Tutorial on it

Please post when you have done your photos jonpink

I did these a while ago, but I think autolevels was the first step... made me do a double-take at how much accurate colour info was in that faded print.

I don't have anything before this. I am the one doing the singing and dancing. Rest are my brothers and sister. It was taken at home in the Maldives. I must have been 7 or 8 I think.

Amazing stuff isn't it.

I remember when I first got hold of Ps - I would use levels on underexposed photographs just to see all the extra detail that came out of black areas. It appeared as if by magic. ;D and my girlfriend couldn't understand how it was figuring out what was there. lol

I'm the cutie in the middle. The boys on either side of me are my cousins. :) That was taken at my first home, in LA.

My family finds much joy in telling me how ugly a baby I was. Even my mother agrees. However, they do tell me I grew out of my hideousness. It's hard to say though because I'm so much bigger and faster than most of them. Could be they are afraid to tell me the truth.

Me at age 3 or 4...

Had scanned these old photos a while ago but never bothered to apply any processing to improve/ correct colours.

Hit them all with auto levels before loading them up and it definitely improved them no end.

And here's one that proves that I always liked to party...
