I shot this guy the other day
I finally got a decent shot of one of these. Im not to wild about the background.
C&C welcome
Shutter speed: 1/400 sec
Aperture: f/5.6
Zoom (Focal length): 368mm (equiv.)*
ISO 200

The background contrast and positioning makes this shot feel a bit uncomfortable. |

I tried to herd him off in a different direction so I could get a better background, but he just kept honking at me and flapping his wings and would not budge.

This often presents problems when working with subjects like this. Its the same sort of issue you run into in candid/street photography also. You can't position your subject, so you have to take what you get, but, taking what you get often produces less than desirable results.
Background and general environment of any photo is an important element. When those don't come together for me, I generally toss the shot and try again later... |
