I'm interested in this game as well, but tell me, how are the vehicles? Which levels allow for X-Wings & Y-Wings? Are they any good?

From what ive seen so far (only got to play for an hour this morning; at work now) the vehicles are awesome.
I flew the XWing around a bit, gonna take some practice. I cant wait to try the Imperial Walkers (I got stepped on by one at one point).
A friend of mine is an old Star Wars XWing vs TiFighter player and he says he loves the XWing in this game.
The most awesome thing I saw thus far was the battle of Naboo.
I was the Droid army trying to get inside the gigantic force field generated by those elephant sized creatures
(just like in the movie). So far I am highly impressed with the game.
Just check out some of the demos and movies; you’ll be blown away.

I am not a huge Star Wars fan, but I love action shooters.
Is there multiplayer in PC? |

XBox too. I however am a PC man all the way. Keyboard/mouse > consol controller.
Plus if you have the system and graphics card to push, the graphics are unbeatable on PC.
As an example my PC specs:
1.83ghz Athon XP
1gig 3200 DDR ram
Radeon 9600xt graphics card
With the above, it runs GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL with the graphics set to 'high' and at 1024/768 resolution.
So, you don’t need a 'hoss PC' to play; though I recommend it ;) |

Yes, up to 32 players at once; and ive heard as the netcode improves that could double to 64 :o

sounds good. I'll probably pick one up, but my system is really pushing it, sadly the newest games no longer like my pc.
PIII 1.0 ghz
512 mb PC133 SDRAM
64mb GeForce2 GTS complete w/broken fan

lol, sounds like we could get a 'dpc clan' going

To give some perspective; cause I think this games engine was put together quite well.
Before this game I was playing Unreal 2004 which I would average 15-30 frames per second; which sucks, and that wasn’t even at highest quality.
In BattleFront, I don’t know the command to check frame rates so im not positive; but I would say by experience I was getting an average of 50-60 FPS; and that’s with the graphics on HIGH :D |

Played from when I got off work (midnight) till 7am this morning..
My god that game is amazingly awesome.
The net code needs some work, but overall.. Wow.
The graphics... at one point I just took a bunch of screen shots of the different areas of maps.
If this was a different type of site I would submit one for a challenge, they are so beautiful ;)
$45 at Walmart. |

To give this some perspective...
The textures and polygon count is much higher in Unreal 2004 then in Star Wars: Battlefront. Just looking at the screen shot shown in this thread shows that.
It is a careful balance, between gameplay speed and eye candy. The Unreal crowd is really into extreme eye-candy with speed being a good second choice. Star Wars gaming fans are, for a big part, just happy to be able to 'live' in the Star Wars universe, if even for a bried period of time.
I am into both, but I don't know if Battlefront will do it for me. I am more into Star Wars Galaxies then FPS games these days... |

How has your online experience been? I cant seem to find a server that isnt full of lag. I feel like the net code needs some patches. |

It definitely needs patches. Finding a game is terrible. I always end up picking one at random. Haven't had problems with lag, but I have a strong connection. I've only played online a couple of times though, so my experience might change.
