This isn't really a 'would this have done better?' thread because I'm fairly happy with my photo that I submitted:
I just wanted to collect your thoughts on these outtakes (or further thoughts on my submission photo) as I will now begin to edit them:
 
Thanks again for your help...it seems like I'm constantly starting posts, but it has really helped me learn a whole lot in the last month or so...

| Of the 3, I like your submission the best. But of the other two, I like the 1st one, unedited2 - don't know why, I'm not that technologically advanced, I just like the composition of that one best. |

I really like both your submission and your outtakes. Of the shots I like your submission the best, the unique angle on the first outtake looks pretty good though.
Your submission shot did great! However, I did find some of the power lines and stuff distracting, I'd almost be curious to see what it would look like with only the top of the smokestack and the cloud (either done by cropping or zoom). |

I have several other compositions of the same scene...some with only the smokestack and building with the cloud. I'll play with those at some point and post the results.
I went with the full view because I really loved how the clouds met the horizon on the left.
On the outtakes, I thought the 'No Smoking' thing was ironic and all... It just wasn't enough to make a great photo but I still want to finalize it with some editing and keep it. |
