I have about a dozen stock images uploaded to both Dreamstime and iStock. Even though iStock pays less for each upload, I was doing better with them. Until this week that is. I've had 3 uploads in the past two days on Dreamstime. 0 uploads in 2 weeks on iStock.
Has anyone else seen this with their stock images? Is Dreamstime taking a bigger market share?
At $.50 versus $.10 I hope so.

I sure hope so. I was selling more on iStock than on Dreamstime. In fact, the only photos I was selling on DT (and I've sold very little on either site), were those that weren't on iStock. Which got me to wondering if people search for the same image in both places and then buy at iStock. So I've taken my prints off iStock and just sold another one in Dreamstime. I think I will stick with them.
Especially since I would've made $8.00 at DT with the sales I had at iStock and I only made $3.50 there.

Your right. The $3.70 that I have made on iStock would be $11.00 on Dreamstime.

My volume at iStock is significantly higher than at dreamstime. I have sold about 42 times on dreamstime and well over 300 times at istock.

After hunting around, I've decided to wait, collect and make brilliant about 300 shots, and then submit to a stock agency that pays better. I'm prepared to submit more after that.
Certainly many of you have this many photos that are great. John and Franziska--your stuff is as good as the photogs in some of the larger stock agencies.
On the other hand, with my limited time (this is a very busy semester), I'm finding it difficult to find the time to work on the photos, so a smaller agency may be worthwhile to explore. --But are some of you exploring the larger agencies?

I've made $6.50 on Canstock with only 3 uploads. It's a very young company (a little over 3 months old) which hasn't done a lot of marketing as they are concentrating on building their collections; however,it is rapidly growing and I believe there are some excellent opportunities there. I think the number of uploads will increase as their marketing increases.

I'm just curious(because I'm really new to this), how long did it take you to receive the uploads on the other two sites? Are there other stock sites people here deal with also?

I find traffic on dreamstime too low to be worth the effort, I have made 6.50 USD with 66 images.
On istockphoto I have made more than 10 times that, reaching a steady flow of 1 USD per day now with 100 images uploaded. I used some of it already to buy the home+ edition of neatimage, so I get less rejects. I just love the photoshop plug-in of neatimage.
I just consider it as a great learning which pays for a few nice additions for my photography hobby.
