Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0L IS

I know a lot of posts like this are done every day but I'd like to get this community's opinion about which of the two modified image is more attractive.

I prefer the first edit. I like the texture on the jeans and face better, and I like how more of the face is hidden in shadow. I almost like the yellow tone on the second edit better but some areas of the image look unnaturally smooth and the subject's blown out hand bothers me.

I now see what you mean by the blown out hand... I'll see what I can do.

Maybe instead of the yellow toned one, you'd prefer this purple one?

It's amazing how a cat picture gets 10 comments and I get one for a shot that's artistic... or trying to be at least...

Is it because the shot is not a super clean shot or is it because there's just nothing to say about it?

Like it? Don't like it?
Good or bad composition?
Good or bad grain effect?
Good or bad lighting?
Anything?

Now granted, I'm at work and looking at these on an LCD panel...so take this with a grain of salt. I like the 2nd one (yellow) better because, on my monitor now, there is much more detail and you can see the model's face much clearer. The first one just appears too dark (again, on my monitor at work) for my tastes.

I looked over and over again at the two photos. My initial impression hasn't changed that much, though. As images, they're both effective, and I can see them being used in some band's promotional material.

I prefer the yellow one, not for the colour, but for the visibility of the eyes. In 'Mystery', I can't relate to the subject at all, but the overblown face of 'yellow' helps me to connect better.

First one is better to me but neither picture really appeals to me overall, to a teenager, probably, but not an old woman like me ;)

The pictures are so diffrent.
Like the texture of the pants are good on the first one, the simbols on the sweater, the shadow on the wall.
But the second one has better face.

maybe you should try to get the details out in all parts of the picture.
