If you still haven't heard of Hero, Hero is a movie currently showing in theatres. The movie is filled with STUNNING visuals that will leave you amazed. After about 10 minutes you won't even realize that you are reading the subtitles. This is a movie that can be watched without sound or dialog. It's simply breathtaking and beautiful. A MUST SEE on the big screen. Enjoy! Oh and here, check out the trailer:

It's a very pretty movie. Just saw it earlier this evening. Jet Li's acting might be a little to stoic, but the martial arts, sets and effects are stunning/superbe/sublime...

I saw it last year. What I hate is when they add some CG effects to try to enhance some scenes, otherwise an interesting movie.
Interesting that some of the best money making Asian films are finally coming to America. Too bad it takes a couple of years to make it here and they get cut up/edited :(
The Asian horror genre seems to be going strong and U.S. companies are rushing to do remakes of these movies recently. |

I thought the movie was good, nothing great, but yeah, visually pretty amazing.
The colors are what stood out to me. How every scene emphasized a different color. Brilliant. |

I loved Hero. Aside from the visuals, the story -- though simple -- was poignant.
Something that struck me from the get-go was the tag line in the starting credits: There are Heroes on Both Sides.

Also see this thread where y'all were instructed to see this film!
If you prefer a more epic version of the same material (Hero is all about visual style, not political intrigue and drama), check out Kaige Chen's The Emperor and the Assassin. |
