It was a great shooting day here! Hazy, and just great weather. Constructive critiques welcome! I think the parents will be happy! For a 6 month old little guy, he was in a wonderful mood!

The last one huh? I liked it but #1 stuck out to me? I do like to see others views though, and it makes me broaden my horizons a bit! Thank you all!

Wow! I like them all. Those are great family portraits! The first one bugs a little because the eyes are to turquoise. (sp?) They don't look natural. Way better then what walmart can give.

Uh oh? WALMART! ! I tell my customers that if you want a Walmart pic....feel free to goto walmart..they have a special on the Nemo backgound this week! Hehheheee! Or you can choose the awesome blue background? I appreciate the input sonifo!

2 and 3 are my favorites. The are all great. I really like what you were going for in the last one, he just looks a bit schlumpy.

They have a Nemo background! (I'm on my way right now!!!)

I also liked the first one but I'm not too into the selective desaturation thing on portraits, although I can see how clients that have never seen it before might be thrilled by it.

I like the last one because it has more of a mood as if it is a candid and he has a great expression on his face. The third one of the entire family just seems way too posed for me but take that with a grain of salt cause I'm not that fond of traditional family portraits, I think it's best to have them in action doing something more dynamic and real with each other. The second one is, cute...

Thanks again...its funny how everyone sees them differently. I have started to notice that myself. It may be great to some and not to others? I am quite picky at what proofs I show, and it always seems to be the ones that I am not to fond of, are the ones they choose? Ya learn somethiing new all the time at this photography business.

yup. that's always the way it is. People like the darndest things! You should give them one of what you think is the worst shot as long as it is in focus just as an experiment. I bet they'd pick it. :)

I am right there with you on that JPR! I hate posed faily pics too, but I have found out that people buy em! Most families dont have an eye for the portrait that may be out-of-the-box, so to speak? Nad I have had people pick the shot that I thought sucked the most inna shoot??? Go figure?

I have also noticed this. I let them see about 10 pictures and they pick the most posed shot and my least favorite of them. Go figure. I love the candid shots, but the average joe doesn't.

Brian

I really like the work you have done.

I like this shot very nuch.

Not having much experience at environmental portraits I would like to ask a question.

What would it do for this shot to have say a nice colorful blanket on the ground?

It seems like a lot of green between the grass and the trees?

WoW! The one of the kid and the wagon wheel is superb! Due to the lighting and overall look, its one of the most professional child portraits I've ever seen. The one of the family is nice also. Excellent Stuff!

That's an amazing family portrait... certainly one of the prettiest and most natural looking I've seen.
