Greetings all,
The Travel Guides Challenge was stunning! Hat's off to you members for images that really SHOULD be on the cover of a magazine/brochure!

My entry was submitted in haste, as I did my last shots around 7:30 that night, got home around 8:30, dumped the card, did a shotgun approach on an edit and snuck in under the wire so close, I got a popup saying it needed a title, threw that in, and submitted. Tried to go back in and enter shutter speed, fstop, etc. and couldn't! Whew!

Here's was my submission:

Here are a few to share that I had a chance on editing and wanted to share what
America's Finest City looks like and wish I hadn't been so pressed on time:

(taken at 7:08PM)

(taken at 7:14PM)

(taken at 7:46PM)

Left you VERY brief comments, something along the line of WOW!!!!!! Added to favorites, of course.

That one taken at 7:08 pm rocks! Those are gorgeous. I wish I had a skyline to shoot, but the flour mill and the hospital really don't have much going for them (except the little blinking lights at the top, and that's not much of a wow factor). ;o)

Yes 7.08pm is my favorite.
What a difference 6 minutes makes.

Real awsome series!
But I think the one you actually picked for the challenge was the best!

If you ever care for my humble opinion about the others...

the 7:46 Lovely night shot. What I didn't like is the top of the building in the middle of the photo that disappears in the dark. Also the green lights in the building left to the middle are somehow not related to anything. Not in the color and not in the shape...

the 7:14 Amazing sunset for itself. But after seeing the one you actually submitted, it makes me think that this one was taken way too far from the scene.

the 7:08 the lighting is great and I really like the view. but I don't like the bottom part of the image. I find the road to be really distracting from the main view.

Your original submittion Absolutely perfect. no other comment...

If you really think San Diego is America's Finest City you must have just come north from Mexico. Keep going.

All are excellent ... the one you submitted I like best (twilight zone is just amazing) except probably crop a little bit of the sky - not too panoramic as the 7:14 and 7:46 shots but similar to 7:08 shot. San Diego is one of my favorite cities in the world and your photographs show why (I was there when the challenge was on).

And to think I almost submitted this:

Any of your shots would have smashed mine to pieces.

LOL Harvey!

I never said I thought it was, that is this City's coined phrase.
Me personally? I think it's a beautiful place to see, but living here is getting old.
Getting too congested, little elbow room, property values are vulgar, and it's just plain expensive to live here.
