5-2 for the ZOO!

OK, zoo sounds good to me too, since so many folks are into it! And just a reminder, the NYBG is right next door, if anyone has the energy for both.

Hhmm..I'll be in Miami visiting my parents, so I guess I can hop on a quick fly to NYC for the weekend....I mean, I LOVE NYC, so why not? I can't make any promises, but count me in just in case!

June

PS. I've never been to Brooklyn or the Bronx and I'm not very familiar with NYC to beging with, so it would be very nice if a kind spirit would meet me somewhere in Manhattan so we could go together to whatever spot everyone's meeting at. That is of course if make it to begin with.

Another site of interest to consider would be the Cloisters, also in the Bronx, and not too far from the Zoo.

I was just checking hotel rates and HOLY COW! They are expensive. I went to NYC in April a couple years ago and I only paid 129 a night. The lowest I can find now is 190! HHHmmm....

The Cloisters is in Manhattan--but far north, Inwood, very close to the Bronx. I'm not sure there is an easy way to get from one to the other without driving, though.

June, I'd recommend SideStep. It searches across multiple sites for rates, and you can sort the results by price.

nope, no way. too much time in subways and on busses. i'd stick with the zoo--plenty to see and do... botanical garden nearby for lovers of flora over fauna.

which is to say: count me in! thanks shoff!

I will have to miss this get-together too. I'll be at a wedding. I'm looking forward to seeing all your pictures, though.

oooh! I like the idea of making our own challenge!
09/15/2004 11:59:24 AM · #73
You folks want to take a 3 hour drive/train and come up and shoot some foliage in the Adirondacks this fall?
09/17/2004 12:54:46 PM · #74
Ok here's the challenge.

The Bronx Zoo - A photo that depicts the beauty, fun and excitment of the zoo, this would include: people, places and of course animals. So basically, anything goes.

After our get together post your best photo here and we'll vote on it.

Feel free to edit this.

Is there anyplace we can put all our photos up and veiw them all at once, just like it were a challenge?
