I got some great news when I got home yesterday after being gone all week at a K9 seminar.

On the answering machine was a message from a local camera shop to call them ASAP.

I called and they told me that a photo I had submitted for the 24 Hours of Halifax photography contest had placed second overall!! As a winning photo, my submission will be placed on exhibit in a local art gallery and be published in a calendar! WOOHOO!! I will also be receiving a free 16 x 24 print from the camera shop. That rocks

Here is the image in question:


This is my first "official" published photograph. Needless to say, I am very happy.

Yep, that was the photo, although I reworked the color cast to make the water a little bluer for submission. The other version I had posted had a little too much green in it.

The ranking really caught me off guard. I really wasn't expecting it to place. Shows you what I know about tastes!!! LOL!

Way to go ! Remember my first publishing experiance in the late 80's. Still have trophy sitting above me now in office. Wishing you many more to come. The world needs all the lovers of nature it can have. Capture those moments and share with all... psart
