I like the 2nd one best but then again I am partial to rusty stuff :) I like the contrast between the clear blue of the sky and the facade of the building .... |

My fav is #3 , the others are really nice in my opinion but the greys of the 3rd have something "magic" !!! I recently have found interesting similar places near my new house and hope to take nice shots like yours but it's only a wish ...
Thank you Laurie for sharing ! |

Thanks, y'all! I have to tell you about that 3rd shot... I used a PS action called "moody" which was part of a set of 4 actions I downloaded somewhere...they are all together as "adactio actions." It did all that with one little clicky, and I thought it turned out kinda neat. I like the desaturated look and the hazy glow it added. The 2nd one, well, I just like old buildings and the different textures of that one against the sky just appealed to me on some level. As for 1 and 4...well, I'm a flower and sunset lover, what can I say? ;o) LOL
Thanks again for your comments and your time! :o)

I've to confess I'm a flower lover too ! Some people think that flowers are "common" photos but I don't , it's sometimes hard to capture the entire beauty of a flower. I'm absolutly happy with the new house for this reason , it has a big garden with flowers and trees ! |

I love the 3rd one, it has a nice soft yet industrial feel to it. I also like the 4th one, the colours are beautiful :o)

Okay, first of all, when I went to click on this "Things I saw around town last night" link, I accidentally clicked on the "First Time Nudes Male" link instead. I was really wondering what town that was until I realized my mistake. :-)
Now that I'm back in this thread, I have to say I like that flower shot a lot. I like #3, as everyone else does, and think that #2 & #4 are also nice pictures, but you did a perfect job with the flower shot. I don't think you could have gotten the composition or colors any more perfect than that.

LOL... I have to admit that in the 14+ years I've lived in this town, no nude men have been wandering the streets... hehehehe
I'm so glad you like the flower shot... the sun was setting right above and to the left of the flowers and I just couldn't stop myself... and my camera was set on saturated color instead of neutral color, so the colors came out more vivid than I expected. I was pleased with it - flower haters be damned! (just kiddin') ;o)

Lori, Jadin, and Dana... thanks so much! This is a really old town, and being a rural area, there's all kinds of interesting things that just blend into the background - and I've decided to get to know the area better with my camera and bring some of the really cool stuff to life. Our downtown area has so many great old buildings, some of them abandoned for decades, but others have been renovated to their original beauty. I just had to share some of the great finds from right here under my nose...and I can't wait to take more that actually turn out halfway decent! LOL ;o)
