I wouldn't count that as a frame meeting challenge as it's not framing anything.

Or am i missing something?

Maybe not, but it is a window frame!
Anyway it was a good excuse to give it an airing :)

OK, my understanding of the Framing challenge...

Capture - Arrest
an image - let's see, if an I-something is an internet-something this must be an I-Mage, or an internet wizard
where the foreground - hmmm, the 4 grounds of coffee that are left at the bottom of the coffee cup or pot
subject - person who is being investigated for committing a crime
frames - is being set-up as if he really did the crime
the rest - he'll get lots of this when he is convicted and is put into prison
of the image - once again, that internate wizard

So to summarize We are talking about a picture of an internet mage/wizard being framed for committing a crime about leaving the coffee grounds in a cup/pot, with extra points for being able to place the subject in jail.

And once again, if your picture doesn't meet my idea of the challenge, I will vote you a ONE, and rant and rave about how no one but me understands the challenge.

Call me closed minded or unimaginative, but to me - the interpretation is clear... the foreground subject (the framing) is the focal point. I think this is different than a "framing" challenge in which the subject of the photo is in the background and the frame is secondary. IMO, the wording of the challenge has been carefully chosen to point in this direction. My entry will follow this wording as will my top votes.

Bill

It's because of unimaginative and closed minded interpretation of challenge that we now have a problem with voting. Let your imagination go a bit.

If it's framed, then it's good.

I think the problem with voting comes from quite the opposite... People interpreting too loosely the intent of the challenge. Your interpretation fits a challenge that is "take a picture of something that is framed" Quite different.
In the end, vote and interpret as you wish, you know where my votes are going. If I vote someone lower because they interpret and submit per your definition, then I will explain why.

Well said, Bill. Personally, I agree with this sentiment 100%. =]

The arch (the foreground)is framing the sky (the background). Therefore, something like this does meet the challenge!

Cropped a little differently and it would have worked to frame the rest of the image!

Actually the arch isn't in the foreground it is in the mid-ground. The foreground is barely noticeable and the background isn't large enough to really be defined as a visual background subject for this challenge. The sky is also all around so it's not really capturing and framing it.

However I wouldn't vote it down.

Just re-read the challenge and would agree that the frame would have to feature as the main subject which negates my previous posting and the pictures included.

Do you think we will see any photos of cows or corn stalks, submitted by slightly dyslexic photographers like me, who believe that the subject of the challenge is "FARMING"?

Now you be talking, me dear!

We be good at they farming pickitures! Here in Berkshire we are all pretty clever at farming. As they say, Berkshire born, Berkshire bred, broad in the arm and thick in the 'ead.

except I be a West Country boy from Gloucesterhire, but I live in Berkshire.

Guess that might count somehow!
