I have a respectable score (hovering around 6.0) but zero comments. :( I guess that's better than a bad score and no comments.

well I have had a few bad weeks here at DPC....let's just say .....with the BOTANY Challenge ...I went over the top ... with an "OUT OF THE BOX" Entry...seems to me.....that doesn't work....consistantly over the last 2 Years...here I have always tried a stab at Humor....and it never works...(or seldom it does)....my score is under 4...and after 140 Challenges....that percentage hovers around 2 or 3 percent..The picture is technically good..... but people just don't seem to get the HUMOR.... there was a thread recently chatting about Funny and humorous submissions..I can fill a book ...with my photos in that thread......BUT..same old story...don't try something different on DPC....it seems to be slammed...hense..a 3.9...and 3 Comments that have no IDEA...where the joke lies....Maybe it was a bad Joke......lol

I beg to differ. There's nothing wrong with thinking outside the box. My recent challenge history suggests that humor is alive and well at DPC. ;-)

You know what they say. High risk high reward. thinking outside of the box nets some of the best, but also some of the worst pictures.

Is it allowed to put your image on DPCPrints while the challenge is still going on ?

Yep, your image will stay hidden until the challenge ends though.

Its okay - average. Not nearly as great as vanishing point went .. but I think I made the wrong choice of submission. Once its over I'll post up the alternative shot to see what you guys think .. the main issue has been "Doesn't say Botany" .. ah well.

Man, I sure "hope" that I get some swing voters at the end.....at least get a 5.0... Sad thing is, low scores, but no comments on them to say why? Personally I feel that my shot here is one of my all time favs...I guess it's a style I like....that's ok...I love it....but I hope to see to get at leat up to 5.0. Proudly say, I finally beat my old scores from a previos challenge photo and was replaced by my VP shot...yea....small victories...

I have 129 votes.
Is it the case with member only challenge ? ( this is my first ) Open challenges seem to have more votes, around 250-300.

Woohoo! Climbed again and a respectable number of comments on my shot. I think my submission is suffering from the love it / hate it flip flop syndrome. I can't wait to see scoring breakdown.

I keep getting 9's & 10's that bring my score up than someone gives me a 1. This has happened five times already! CURSES! What's with the haters?!?
Anyway, it's a quality shot by my standards so all the haters can kiss it! :)

Looking at the challenge history, it seems like the votes exceed the entries...most of the time.
