Here are the only 2 perseids I was able to capture the other night from the Perseid Meteor shower. Also there are a few shots of a cool lightning show that was way east of where I was at to watch the meteor shower

Well done for the captures. I saw some really bright ones but none on camera though. Love those lightning-in-cloud shots too James.

Thanks, I some some bright ones also but as luck would have it they were in the direction where my camera was NOT pointed at that time.

then the clouds came in about 4am so I packed up and headed home.

Nice captures. We missed the meteor showers :(

We have been very busy trying to get our garden work done before our 30th wedding aniversary party this coming Saturday :)

We were up in the mountains for the Perseid shower and saw some fun shooting stars. To clean the photos up a bit, you might try selecting the stars and the shooting star trail (yeah, it may take a while), then inverse the selection. Duplicate the layer twice (so you have three). Then use some heavy handed gaussian blur to the noise (the part that wasn't selected). Arrange your layers so the stars are on top, then delete the non-stars on that layer. So now you have a blurry layer with little noise and with the star layer on top (that is stars and nothing else). The original layer is sitting at the bottom. You'll have to fiddle with the colors a bit to get it right, but this might work. I've been experimenting on this photo using similar techniques with some success, trying to get a print of it (finally):

Keep looking up! Nice shots (I love the stormy ones!)
