Seeing as how my mail box has been filled on a regular basis with slick color brochures telling me how to vote, I thought it might be fun to do something of that nature here. Not with real candidates of course, just with our ideas of photos that make a political statement. Anyone else up for this?

I actually like the idea but not NOW! I feel way oversaturated with politics, and there's still 3 months to go until the U.S. election.

As if the ranting in the "why'd my shot do so poorly" and the "why Dems/Republicans are idiots" forums isn't enough...combining the two (as the American DPC contingent would be likely to do given the current election-year timing) would be bordering on the ludicrous. I can only imagine some of the comments on the photos now... ;o)

thats why I stopped the rants forum threads from showing in the most recent list...found myself getting pulled into nonproductive; nonphoto related crap and I'd much rather focus on photography in a photography based site :)

Whilst the general idea is okay, personally, I think there is enough propaganda sailing around in the forums right now. Maybe in February. :-P

I have an idea....

POLITICAL PROPAGANDA....

Take any two products and with a photo...demonstrate the one's superiority over the other...

Chevy over Ford
Coke over Pepsi
McDonald's over Burger King

Now THAT would be a good challenge...(advanced editing allowed)

The way the voting is going right now, I don't think this would go well. People would vote you down because they don't approve with the one you demonstrated the superiority.

Also, DPC is a international site, quite frankly I really don't care with what's happening in political United State. So alot of thing don't cross border or translate easily.

A could example is the political feel of Canada. Quebecois vs Canadian, most of the rest of the world don't get it, so I would have low votes because of it.

Politics is a touchy subject all over the globe.
