Does anyone with a dslr own this monopod? I'm going to do some traveling and since my telephoto lens is slow I'll need some support. Should it be able to support around 2-3 pounds?

Any reason you don't want to use a full-fledged tripod?

The main reason why I don't want to use a tripod is because it'll be an extra piece of luggage that I'll only be using once or twice for the whole week. If I were going somewhere by car I'd take my tripod along.
