I have just been volunteered as "Technology Chair" for an organization to which I belong. Mostly, this means managing the website. Already I've come across problems I have no idea how to solve such as changing passwords for various site areas. I've only dabbled in web design; this is new stuff!

I'd love some references to books or websites that will help me! Thanks!

Depending on where your site is hosted.... The host I use has the password protection utility built in. It's done through a web or ftp interface.

Like Gordon asked;;; where, what, how???

These things are usually unique to the server... so a single book may not help.

Okay, I've finally been able to do some research. It looks like we're on a Unix based system maintained by Omnis.com. They have a handy set of tools when I log in, but might I still need some expertise for maximum functionality?
