Greetings! I'd love some feedback on this photograph of local sandhill cranes tearing it up at the Daytona Beach Community College extension campus in Deltona, Florida. I taught there last semester and this group was just making a racket one day. Right outside the doors of my building. Very funny little group of birds with great attitude! Thanks in advance for your time!

-thanks again,

What odd little guys! Wish I could see it full sized...do you have a clickable link? I love the colors and the detail on the bird in the center. :o)

Lauriel, they are funky, aren't they?
I posted a page on my personal website with a larger representation of this photograph. It's still not full sized, but it certainly is larger. This prints nicely - one of my favorite personal 8x10s. Thanks for your words!

very nice pictutre.
Only thing is that the 3 birds are not faceing into the picture, its like they are leaving.
You can make it better if you croped of the 4th bird.

cool - cropping is a bit tight on the top. the BG could use a tad more blur to it.

If it was mine (and I wish it was) I'd give the lead Sandhill Crane a little more room to move into.
They are so wild out here, I usually get the blurred south end of a crane heading north. |

Very cool find!
I agree about the crop.
Could be my monitor here at work, but it looks just a little dark.
Another great piece of work!

Thank you all for your comments so far! We see sandhill cranes hanging out near our house from time to time, but this little group was just taking ownership of DBCC. Right outside the door... And let me get surprisingly close to them.
I'll work a bit on recropping it. As far as blurring the background goes, I'm not really sure how to do that. I'm not too good with the graphics filters and all of that. I've got Fireworks, but not Photoshop. Fireworks doesn't seem to have as much flexibility with photography. I guess it's mostly aimed at doing web graphics with Dreamweaver. Things to learn...
Thanks for your comments! I respect the hell out of this community's input - just a fantastic site.
