Tonight I am cursing myself for not having a better flash. We have a humming bird in my garage and my flash is leaving some horrible shadows. Could only get a few picks because we are still trying to get him/her out. I'll let everyone who cares know what happens.








I had time to upload these because we figured we would leave him alone for 20 minutes and see if he finds the big open door. These birds sure are pretty, but they aren't very smart!

some people have all the luck...I can't get 20 feet from one and it's G.O.N.E !
But what the heck is this..I found it in my shop looking for some things for the up comming challenge.Looks to me that they are ummm..well they are very close to each other..lol
anyone know what kind of bug this is.

reminds me of the critter that Khan put in Chekov's ear in Star Trek II...don't know what that is, but it gives me the willies! :o)

It's a stick insect, there are a few different species

I think they are the largest insect known, and they use the stick like appearance as camoflague

Ok...I went back out after supper and took a tape.They were still there doing the same thing...lol the big one was 4 1/4 long ! that nail you see is a twenty penny and this joker makes 4 of thoes..lol

The humming bird decided to stay for about four hours in my garage. I finally got worried that it may not make it through the night so I tried to force it out with a broom. I guess he got really tired because he finally just perched on the brisels and let me walk him out the garage door. At one point before I used the broom I was about 3 inches from grabbing him... I guess he got comfortable with me being close.Maybe one day he will remember my kindness and let me take pictures of him where there is decent light!
